HSA Group Fosters an Inclusive, Performance-Driven Workforce

A case study published by SAP, the world's leading IT company, highlights the HSA Group's approach to enhancing the customer and employee experience and creating economic opportunities for young Yemenis.

Hayel Saeed Anam & Co. (HSA Group) is the biggest employer in Yemen. The group is embarking on a major digital transformation project to optimize operations, enhance the customer and employee experience, and create economic opportunities for young Yemenis, including women and people with disabilities. By modernizing HR, HSA Group has slashed the time spent on routine administration tasks, freeing HR to focus on employee engagement, talent management, and inclusion. Employees and managers benefit from self-services and more-informed strategic decision-making. HSA Group’s new digital HR function is driving its transition from a traditional organization to an open and performance-driven company.

“SAP SuccessFactors solutions are helping us to build a more open, transparent work environment, and employee engagement has soared.” Says Diaa Mohamed, CHRO, Hayel Saeed Anam & Co.

Empowering Employees From All Walks of Life to Succeed

As the first step of its HR digital transformation journey, HSA Group replaced its outdated, on-premise Oracle Human Capital Management solution and many manual, paper-based processes with the cloud-based SAP® SuccessFactors® Employee Central solution. The group now benefits from a single source of truth for employee data, greater transparency, and enhanced reporting capabilities. Self-services provide an engaging experience for all employees: white-collar workers benefit from the convenience of web and mobile self-services, while blue-collar workers can use shop-floor terminals to check their salary, print out payslips, and request time off. By dramatically reducing paperwork and automating many processes, SAP SuccessFactors solutions free up time and resources for the HR team to focus on strategic activities, such as employee engagement, business enablement, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion. For example, HSA Group employs many people with disabilities and is building a holistic infrastructure to attract and retain these employees. The group also aims for women to make up at least 20% of the workforce by 2025. New insights thanks to SAP SuccessFactors solutions empower leaders to make data-driven decisions to make these ambitions a reality

Diaa added: “As the largest employer in Yemen, we have a responsibility to provide opportunities to the community. With SAP SuccessFactors solutions, we are equipped to attract and support underrepresented groups in the workplace, such as women and people with disabilities.”
